Silks and Wools and Satins, Oh My!

On Monday, my Mom, sister, a friend and I all went to see the Shippensburg University Fashion Archives and Museum.  All the garments were exquisite!  It’s amazing to think that all the clothes made prior to about 1850 were entirely hand-sewn.  And I thought making one on a machine was a big deal!

There’s an online store where you can buy the catalog of the current exhibit (and some previous ones too) if you can’t go there yourself.  In my opinion, the long, twisty drive was worth it.

I had a great time, all the clothes were amazing, and I highly recommend going there if you get a chance.  The exhibit is free but it closes on December 8th this year.  So what are you waiting for?
